In the rapidly evolving business landscape of Nepal, startups are constantly seeking innovative ways to stand out and connect with their targeted audience. What comes in handy in this situation is the immense popularity that is gained by podcasts nowadays. With their ability to reach a large audience, podcasts have become a powerful tool for start-ups to build their brand, connect with their targeted audience, and establish leadership. So, why exactly should startups in Nepal consider investing in podcasts?

Podcasts as a Low-Cost Marketing Tool

So firstly, we can say that podcasts are a low-cost marketing tool for startups where resources are often limited. Podcasts offer a cost-effective way to market products and services. Entrepreneurs don't have to go and hustle for their marketing to any big channels or advertising media; a simple podcast can help them. You go to someone else's podcast and give your opinion, or you create your own. It's your benefit. One of the best examples of a podcast helping startups is Nish Hair, a hair extension brand founded by Parul Gulati. She went to the podcast presented by Raj Shamani and advertised her merchandise there. Even though she established her business through Instagram, that specific podcast boosted her and her brand's popularity, and her company is now valued at roughly Rs—50 crores in six years.

Building a Loyal Community Through Personal Connections

The podcast also helps build a loyal community in a country like Nepal with trust and significant ruling consumer behavior. Startups can use podcasts to connect with their audience at a personal level, which will also be to their benefit. As I have already said before, podcasting is now a growing business, and people who go on a podcast or play their podcast are the ones who have marketed themselves very well and provide start-ups with an opportunity to enhance their visibility. As it's a modern time and a digital era, podcasts are particularly beneficial for Nepali startups looking to expand beyond the local market,

it not only help us start-ups to grow but also allow building connections with influencers and big media personalities for their business enhancement. If you open your podcast to grow your business, then by inviting guests to share their insight and experience, startups can create valuable content while building relationships with important figures in any industry.

Leveraging the Digital Era and Social Media Trends

Nowadays everyone is in the digital landscape, with increasing use of the Internet and mobile phones in everyone's hands. According to statistics for January 2020, 4.54 billion people are active internet users, which represents 59% of the global population. The younger generation in particular is turning to digital media for entertainment and information. Even people nowadays get information from social media, and they trust that more than anything. For many people, the credible source is social media. So in that time, startups can leverage this trend by creating podcasts that cater to this growing digital audience, whether it's discussing entrepreneurship technology or social issues, and start-ups and tap into the interests of the Nepali, digitally savvy population, and engage with them meaningfully.

Way Forward

In conclusion, what I want to say is that podcasts are more than just a trend. There are powerful tools that every entrepreneur can use to enhance their business. Also mostly in countries like Nepal where people are growing, digital podcasts can be a very good way to portray their business with low-cost ability to community and many other functions. Podcasts offer a unique opportunity for startups to connect with their audience and establish a strong market presence. So, it would be a better alternative for Stratup to employ podcasts as advertising tools. Whether you're just starting or looking to expand your reach, consider adding podcasts to your marketing strategy and watching your startup drive to the digital.
