Project Autonomous Vacuum Cleaner/Pikachu

August 22, 2024

Nepalese households comprise of tight spaces and corners but large vacuum cleaners that rely on chords for performing. We intend to develop an autonomous vacuum capable of avoiding obstacles through smooth maneuvers and cleaning scraps and pieces of trash off the floor efficiently.

Background and Rationale

-To design a vacuum capable of moving around on its own

-Develop a vacuum to collect scraps and debris

-Integrate sensors to detect and avoid obstacles in the cleaner's path. -Develop a control algorithm to enable autonomous navigation and cleaning.

Our Target Audience

Household Cleaning: It can be used as a smart and efficient cleaning solution for homes, offices, and other indoor spaces.

Commercial Cleaning: Commercial settings like hotels, restaurants, and shopping malls, can help maintain cleanliness after business hours. Industrial Spaces: It can be adapted for cleaning floors in warehouses and factories.

Project Description

Mobility: The cleaner will be equipped with motorized wheels to move in different directions. Obstacle Avoidance: It will be equipped with proximity sensors (ultrasonic or infrared) to detect obstacles and navigate around them.

Vacuum System: The cleaner will have a vacuum pump or motor to collect scraps and dust from the floor.

Arduino Control: The entire system will be controlled by an Arduino board, which will run the necessary algorithms for navigation and cleaning.

User Interface: We will develop a user interface (UI) that allows users to interact with the cleaner, set cleaning schedules, and monitor its status. Design: The product will be robust and compact, sizeable enough to get under tight spaces with a premium look

USP

An infrared Sensor gives an electrical signal as an output when an object comes in front of it. By using the output electrical signal, the Arduino can decide whether there is an obstacle or not.
